A reputable national litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Litigation Practice Group. This role is based in Houston and offers a dynamic opportunity for attorneys to develop their litigation skills while managing a diverse caseload in personal injury, premises liability, professional liability, and related practice areas. The position combines case responsibility with mentorship from experienced partners and a supportive team environment. This is a hybrid role, with a flexible balance of remote and periodic in-office work.
Qualifications & Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have 1–7 years of civil litigation experience and will:
- Be licensed to practice law in Texas.
- Draft pleadings, legal briefs, and discovery materials.
- Conduct motion practice, manage written discovery, and handle depositions.
- Appear in court and play an active role in trials.
- Demonstrate strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities effectively.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities.
- Produce high-quality legal work and take ownership of tasks and projects proactively.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $120,000–$135,000 (higher pay considered based on experience).
- Billable Hours: 1,950 annually (including 50–100 hours of non-billable training).
- Work Environment: In-office presence required for the initial 4–6 months, with the option to transition to fully remote or remain in-office thereafter.
